1. History of Division since inceptions

(A) History of Creation:-

Bokaro Central Excise Division has been created w.e.f. 01.05.1989 vide MFDR order no. 11012/61/84-AD-IV and Patna Commission rate Estt. Order no. 92/89 dated. 14.04.1989. Earlier, it was part of Central Excise Division, Dhanbad.

B) Jurisdiction:-

With the creation of Hazaribagh Division in course of restructuring of the divisions vide Trade Notice no.3/2003 dt.15.1.2003 of Commissioner, Central Excise, Ranchi, presently ,Bokaro division comprises Chas Sub-Division of Bokaro District Minus Balidih P.S. and Jainamore P.S. and includes Sindri Range falling under Dhanbad District comprising of Sindri P.S., Baliapur P. S. and Jharia P.S.

Location of Range / Sector Office:-

Central Excise Division, Bokaro is located in its own building at Stadium Road, Sector-IV, Bokaro Steel City Dist-Bokaro (Jharkhand). Out of five ranges under Bokaro division ,four are situated in the divisional building itself and fifth i.e. Sindri Range is located out-side at Sindri .
